Italy based leather finishing and drying machinery specialists Fratelli Carlessi will highlight its new robotic SprayLab as well as its recently upgraded Cell Rotary Conditioning drier at the upcoming Simac Tanning Tech exhibition in Milan from 21-23 February alongside the Lineapelle fair.

The new robotic SprayLab, is a pilot scale spray line will be a totally new concept in spray finishing where the testing of chemical formulations, machine and spray gun settings have been completely redesigned to be shorter than on existing smaller-sized spray machines.

With the new design, it is now possible to replicate different finishing line settings on a small scale such as belt and carousel speed etc., and to exactly replicate the same finishing conditions from pilot runs to complete scaled-up production runs on a full-sized spray line.

Like all modern Fratelli Carlessi machines the new R.S.L. line has an easy-to-use, intuitive touch screen control panel for all machine settings and operations.

The upgraded Cell Rotary Conditioning drier (CRC) features improved drying frame tension for each hide, more precise condition drying controls, and can simultaneously process wet leathers with different substances belonging to different process batches.

Fratelli Carlessi, in a joint research project with the Institute of Creative Leather Technology at the University of Northampton, UK, collaborated to define the role of conditioning during leather production and help understand, physically, how drying can affect the leather in terms of enhanced area yield and end-use performance.
