Leather from Brazil expecting positive results from Milan at the Lineapelle fair

25 September 2018

The Lineapelle fair - taking place in Milan from 25-27 September - will be the event's 95th edition. The fair's longevity demonstrates the recognition of its loyal public, who are connected to the design and fashion sectors and search for the best materials to develop footwear, bags and accessories collections. Among the 1,200 exhibitors will be four Brazilian tanneries participating with the support of Brazilian Leather, an export incentive project carried out between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

Cortrume Krumenauer from Portão (RS) will be in Milan participating in Lineapelle. For Joel Krummenauer, director, one of the most relevant aspects of the fair is that it attracts companies and brands that don't usually participate in other events of this kind. "It's one of the most international fairs in the segment, bringing together people from every continent with traditional customers, but also generating opportunities for making valuable new contacts", says Joel, whose tannery has participated in consecutive editions of Lineapelle - including the New York edition.

The official report from the Milan edition in 2017 highlighted that "positive feedback has been received from the footwear industry renewed with the effervescence of the leather goods sector, and leather is seen as fundamental for adding value and exclusivity to accessory collections." This trend is expected to continue in 2018, an excellent prognosis for participating tanneries.

The following Brazilian tanneries will participate in Lineapelle with the support of Brazilian Leather:

  • Courovale by BCM – Hall 1 5 / M 2 6
  • Cortume Krumenauer – Hall 1 1 / U 2 2 / 2 4
  • Nova Kaeru – Hall 9 / V 2 3
  • Soubach Special Leathers – Hall 1 1 / V 3 0.
